Carnival of Recipes - Chocolate!

posted Tuesday, 31 January 2006

Carnival of Recipes has found a host this week.  It is the one and only Prochein Amy!  The theme is chocolate to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  I don’t have the recipes for my favorite chocolate foods, which are Dove dark chocolate, rocky road ice cream, and almond M&Ms.  But here is something that I do make.  It is easy, quick, and delicious.

Double Chocolate Chewies

1 package fudge or devil’s food cake mix

2 eggs

½ cup butter or margarine, melted

1 package (6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 cup)

1 cup chopped nuts

1.  Preheat oven to 350 °F.

2.  Grease 13x9x2-inch pan.  (I use cooking spray.)

3.  Combine cake mix, eggs, and butter in large bowl.  Stir until thoroughly blended.  (Mixture will be stiff.)  Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.  Press mixture evenly in greased pan.

4.  Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until set.  Cool completely.  Cut into bars.
