You may have noticed the box in the upper left corner of my blog. It is a tribute to the
2,996 victims of September 11, 2001. D. Challener Roe asked bloggers to join together to honor the 2,996 by remembering their lives, and not by remembering their murderers. Each blogger was asked to pay tribute to a single victim. My person to
honor is Frank G. Schott, age 39, from Massapequa Park, New York. He was the assistant vice president for technology of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. He was
cofirmed dead at the World Trade Center. Read more about Frank here.
For me September 11, 2001, started out as a regular day. When I first heard about the airplanes flying into the World Trade Center, it was hard to fathom. All sorts of thoughts went through my mind--fear, sadness, worry, and anger. And I have to admit, relief that it wasn't me. I'm sure those same thoughts went through everyone's mind at some time for another. Even though I don't live near New York City and did not know anyone who died, my life in the past five years has been different in many ways. However, it so minute when compared to the lives of the families of those who died on September 11. My prayers go out to them and may our tribute to the 2,996 bring them some comfort.
