This past weekend we were in Arkansas to help Bill's oldest sister and her husband celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. There were over 100 people there! We also visited with my parents, two sisters, their husbands, two nephews, one niece, and one great nephew. We enjoyed an early Thanksgiving, and we sort of celebrated Christmas early because most of us won't be together in December.
Today I'm getting ready for our trip to Fort Worth to celebrate Thanksgiving for our kids, grandkids, and people who I consider my extended family. So it is a hectic time of year, and my posts may be sporadic. It is a good thing I'm retired from working full time. (I'm not retired from the rest of life.)
When Bill and I were driving home yesterday, I was thinking about the past weekend and what will be happening in the next month or so. About that time, we went through a small town and in front of a restaurant was a portable marquee. On it were the words, TODAYS SPECIAL. That was the only thing on the sign; they had not put what food was on special that day. Then I thought if they put an apostrophe in TODAYS, it would read TODAY'S SPECIAL, which could mean TODAY IS SPECIAL. Then I thought, "Yes, today and every day is special." What a nice thought in these coming days that will be busy!
I missed you. I thought maybe you were either busy or out of town. I'm glad
your are back... Happy Thanksgiving.
